BIO., Peter Mojica

Peter Mojica is a Principal and Director of Business Development at Core Technology Partners, LLC., a professional services firm headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, specializing in the financial services sector. Peter also assists clients in a variety of industries to create usable business and technical models for information systems, practices and management. He has extensive experience managing business-driven information technology projects for large enterprise clients.

Peter has 13 years experience in information systems development and maintenance. Prior to joining CTP, he served as Vice President of Research and Development for First Union National Bank, Capital Markets Technology Division, in Charlotte, N.C. This group was formed and headed by Peter in January 1998 because of the rapid growth of the Capital Markets group and the need for a dedicated research organization in First Union Capital Markets. Here he conducted applied research in the computer science field as it applied to creating strategic leverage of technology within the banking and financial markets. Prior to forming this group, Peter headed the PC and Unix Integration group at First Union, since his joining the firm in 1995. Here Peter was responsible for enterprise technology and organizational technology standards for the firm.

From 1992-1995 Peter served as a Managing Consultant at R.C.G. Information Technology, the technology arm of Reliance Insurance Co., in New York City. Here Peter managed the Client/Server practice for the firm. He delivered large systems management and development projects for various clients, which included British Airways, BMG Music Service and Catholic Charities. Other client engagements included Nomura Securities, Credit Suisse First Boston and Chemical Bank.

Peter entered the financial sector technology arena in 1991 where he worked for Nomura Securities in New York City. Here he led special projects teams within the systems technology groups responsible for firm-wide systems these included both the Equity and Fixed Income trading floors as well as all areas of Investment Banking.  He managed infrastructure engineering teams in the PC and LAN areas with responsibility for new trading floor build-outs and firm-wide PC infrastructure systems, as the firm moved their operations from 180 Maiden Lane to Two World Financial Center.

Prior to entering the financial technology sector Peter was employed full-time as a Senior Systems Developer in the legal industry.  From 1987-1990 he worked at Herzfeld & Rubin PC., 40 Wall Street, New York City. Here he was responsible for cross-platform system development of large database systems used in the worldwide support of case litigation for Automotive Product Liability defense claims, for Volkswagen of America, AG, who this firm served as worldwide general counsel.  Peter also managed the micro-computer systems services delivery for the firm.

From 1985-1987 Peter worked for Sargoy, Stein and Hanft, 105 Madison Ave, New York City. Here he developed analytical systems in support of [defense] Anti-Trust litigation for the top ten motion picture industry companies. These systems involved analysis of ten to fifteen years of data, which was the average damage period for Anti-Trust case in this industry.

Peter has traveled both domestically and internationally on behalf of various clients. He is married and has two sons.
